What is an ATS Resume Score & What Does It Mean?
An ATS Resume Score is a numerical rating (typically calculated from 0 to 100) generated by an Applicant Tracking System (such as Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, or Lever) or an ATS audit scanner. It reflects how effectively automated scanning software can read, categorize, and match your resume against the target job criteria.
When recruiters receive hundreds of applications for an open vacancy, they configure automated filter thresholds. Resumes with a high ATS score (typically 80% or higher) are placed into the top candidate queue for human review. Resumes scoring below this threshold are often filtered out before a human hiring manager ever reads a single bullet point.
